Ah, the beloved sound of Moonlight In Sonata playing on an old Victrola

"When you hear the seagulls..."

Verse I

Children of desire far

beyond the night.

I sing my songs to birds then in the darkness of the light.

When you come to see me, don’t think I don’t care.

Nor when you watch me from afar as if I don’t know you’re there.

Whoever comes, better  call me Mr. Crumbs

Verse II

When you hear the seagulls, don’t think of me alone.

Better be out whistling in the mighty wind blown.

Whoever comes, better  call me Mr. Crumbs

Verse III

Woman of desire that I loved and so let go.

You tried tipping the scale but I forever hang low.

If you come to see me, I’ll look you in the eye.

And tell you you’ve no enemies, especially not time.

Whatever comes,

Forever call me Mr. Crumbs.
